If we are not yet servicing your area, get 20 subscribers together and we can start picking up in your town.What can I compost in my bucket? Are there any no-no’s?
👍 If it grows, it goes! Whether its cooked of raw, we accept any and all fruits, veggies, meat, bones, seafood and starches. Eggshells, coffee grounds, paper napkins, papertowels, paper coffee filters, chopsticks, and rigid tableware that is Cerfitied Compostable are all welcome. Have a question? Just ask.
🚫 Plastics, metal, glass, pet waste, and harsh cleaning agents are not allowed.Can I compost meat and dairy products?
Yes! We accept meat, bones, seafood and dairy. To mitigate odors in warmer weather, feel free to freeze these items prior to adding them to your bucket.What if my bucket is full and I have extra scraps?

Please place your full bucket by your front entrance. Please keep in mind we wish to estalish an accesible, obvious and easily repeatable location to ensure successful swaps! We accommodate special requests on a case-by-case basis.Do I need to be home for pickups?

Log in to your account and request a compost share in the Store. We allocate up to 60 lbs per year per householder for residential accounts, delivered to your door in reusable sandbags.How do I pay?
We bill monthly to your credit card on file. You can update payment info or view invoices anytime by logging into your account. No surprise fees—ever.Gross! I have maggots. What should I do?
Though unpleasant, maggots are natural decomposers. So please take a breath! To avoid future issues, always seal your bucket completely shut after every deposit. That will prevent flies from finding the scraps in the first place. To address any current issues, please give us a shout. We can walk you through some strategies.Can we switch our frequency of pick-ups?

Simply log into your account or email us 24 hours before your scheduled service and we’ll skip that cycle. Enjoy your trip, we’ve got your scraps covered when you return!Oh shoot! I forgot to put out my bucket for today’s service. What should I do?
If it’s before noon on pickup day, give us a quick call or text and we’ll try our best to schedule a same-day swing by. If it’s after hours, don’t worry—your bucket will get picked up on the next scheduled day. In the meantime, you can collect your organic waste in a biodegradable liner or paper bag and we will pick it up with your bucket during our next pickup.I need to end my Bootstrap service—how do I do this?
We’re sad to see you go, but cancellation is easy: contact us at info@bootstrapcompost.com and we’ll confirm your final pickup date. Return your bucket on your last pickup and you’ll owe nothing more.
